Sample Teacher and Student Maps

The following GIS maps represent a small sample of work created by either students or teachers who were involved in the MapTEACH project.  In some cases, mappers used the internet and GIS software and data to investigate and map geologic hazards or land ownership for an Alaskan community. In other cases, they explored their local landscape with local elders, geologists and educators, documented their work with a GPS, digital camera and note taking, and then used those data to create a map reflecting this experience.
